Privacy Policy

Last updated October 26, 2026. This policy explains what this website collects, why, and what you can do about it. It is written to be read, not skimmed past.

Who we are

Trichome Digital ("we", "us") operates trichomedigital.com. We are based in East Bay, California, United States. You can reach us at info@trichomedigital.com or (510) 244-3849.

The short version

  • The only optional tracking is Google Analytics, and it runs only if you accept the cookie banner. No advertising trackers, ever.
  • The only personal information we collect is what you type into the contact form or send us directly.
  • We use it to reply to you and, if you become a client, to do the work. We do not sell it or share it for marketing.
  • You can ask us at any time what we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it.

What we collect and why

Contact form

When you submit the form on our contact page, we receive the details you enter: your name, email address, business name, current website, the service you are interested in, a budget range if you choose one, and your message. If you arrived from our pricing estimator, the options you selected are included in the message. We use this information to respond to your inquiry and to prepare a proposal if you ask for one. The legal basis is your request that we contact you.

Submissions are processed and stored by Netlify, our hosting provider, and delivered to our email. Netlify's own privacy policy is at netlify.com/privacy. The form includes a hidden field that helps filter automated spam; it collects nothing from real visitors.

Booking a call

Our "book a call" buttons open Cal.com, a separate scheduling service, in a new tab. Any information you enter there is collected by Cal.com under its own privacy policy at cal.com/privacy, and the booking details are shared with us so we can hold the meeting.

Chat

The chat on our site is an AI assistant. When you send it a message, your messages go to Anthropic, which runs the AI model, to write the reply. We do not store chat conversations on our servers; the conversation stays in your browser tab until you close it. If you book a call or leave a message through the chat, the details you enter (name, email, a phone number if you add one, the time you picked and any note) and the chat so far are emailed to us, and bookings are made through Cal.com as described above. A phone number is used only for Cal.com to send you a text reminder about that call. Anthropic's privacy policy is at anthropic.com/legal/privacy.

Email and phone

If you email or call us, we keep the correspondence for as long as we need it to handle your request and, for clients, for the duration of our work together plus the period required for tax and legal records.

Server logs

Like every website, ours is served by a hosting provider that records standard technical information about requests, such as IP address, browser type, and the pages requested, for security and reliability. We do not use these logs to identify or profile visitors.

Analytics, with your consent

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages are read and where visitors come from. It is switched off until you choose "Allow analytics" on the cookie banner. If you decline, or never answer, no analytics cookie is set and nothing is sent to Google. When enabled, Google receives your anonymized IP address, browser and device type, the pages you view, and a random identifier stored in a cookie; we have turned off Google's advertising features and data sharing for personalization. Your choice is stored in your browser so we do not ask again, and you can change it by clearing the site's data. Google's privacy policy is at policies.google.com/privacy.

What we do not do

  • We do not set any cookie before you have chosen on the banner, and none at all if you decline.
  • We do not use Meta Pixel, advertising trackers, or session-recording tools.
  • We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information.
  • We do not send marketing email to people who have not asked for it. Anyone who has received an unsolicited business email from us can reply "no" and will not hear from us again.

Who we share information with

Only the service providers needed to run the site and respond to you: Netlify (hosting and form handling), Google Workspace (our email), Google Voice (our phone number), Cal.com (scheduling), Anthropic (the chat's AI model), Resend (sends form and chat emails to us), and, if you allow it, Google Analytics. Each processes data under its own terms and only for the purpose we use it for. We may also disclose information if the law requires it.

How long we keep it

Inquiries we do not pursue are deleted within 12 months. Client records are kept for the length of the engagement and for up to seven years afterwards, as required for accounting and tax purposes.

Your rights

Wherever you live, you can ask us to tell you what personal information we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it, and we will do so unless the law requires us to keep it. California residents have these rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act; we do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined in that law. Residents of the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom have equivalent rights under the GDPR and UK GDPR. To exercise any of these, email info@trichomedigital.com. We respond within 30 days.

Children

This site is for businesses and is not directed at anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS. Form submissions are encrypted in transit. No method of storage is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we limit what we collect so that there is little to lose.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top will change with it. Material changes to how we handle information will be noted on this page.
