An AI creative director for packaging design

What it is

DANKY is our own product and the deepest AI build we have shipped. It takes a brief for a cannabis product and produces a coordinated set of packaging surfaces (main label, lid, and strip) as editable layered artwork, then checks that artwork against a versioned set of compliance rules before export.

What makes it more than a prompt box

• A creative director step. The brief becomes three art directions, then a design plan, then coordinated assets. Composition is planned before any image is generated, including a reserved zone for lettering so text never collides with the artwork.
• Object-aware scenes. Elements are generated as separate objects, so the user can click a character, move it, resize it, or ask for a variation in plain language.
• A cohesion engine. Every generated object is measured against the scene (saturation, contrast, temperature, sharpness) and harmonized so nothing reads as a sticker pasted on a painting.
• Compliance built in. Rulesets are versioned and every rule carries a source and a confidence. Unverified rules can never pass; they surface as “needs review”. Compliance layers are locked so the AI cannot delete or shrink them.
• Multi-SKU drops. One pilot design becomes a differentiated set across a whole product line, with a review that flags SKUs that look too similar.
