An event bar that sets itself up as you scroll
Our own mobile bar for private events, rebuilt from scratch. An empty patio turns into a party as you scroll, and a quote builder grows the bar on screen while it prices the night.
Where it stands
The Sesh Bar is our own business. Its first site went up fast, with stock photos and placeholder prices. We rebuilt it from scratch, and the new site went live at theseshbar.com in October 2026.
The problem
The Sesh Bar brings a staffed cannabis bar to private events in California, run by “Bong Tenders” who handle the session the way a bartender runs a bar. Almost nobody has seen this service before, so the site has two jobs: make the idea click in seconds, and make booking feel as normal as hiring a caterer.
What we built
- A hero that throws the party for you. The page opens on an empty patio at dusk. As you scroll, the bar rolls in, the glass lines up, the lights come on and the guests arrive. The footage is AI-generated for now, built from two keyframes, and will be replaced by a real dusk shoot.
- “Build your night,” a quote builder you can watch. Pick a service model, set guests and hours, and the bar, the Bong Tenders and any add-ons (a dab bar, a wine and food pairing) grow on screen as the numbers change. One click carries the night into the booking form, already filled in.
- Three ways to run it. Open Bar, Pay As You Go and Token Bar, each explained in a line, so picking one does not take a phone call.
- A living soil menu. The flower gets its own section, set out like a tasting menu, with the add-ons beside it.
- Real event footage. A “From the events” strip of clips from Sesh Bar events, next to the staged hero.
- The basics. A 21+ age gate on entry and a booking form on Netlify Forms.
Design
A dark night-bar palette with amber accents, built around the stacked flask logo the bar already had. It reads like a cocktail bar, not a dispensary, which is the whole positioning. Under the hood it is Astro with GSAP and Lenis for the scroll work, and no React.
What it shows
An unfamiliar service is easier to book when people can see it happen. The scroll shows the night, the builder shows the price, and the form is filled in by the time someone decides to book.
